Undergraduate Editorial Intern

The editorial internship is an unpaid internship that will provide the student(s) selected with first-hand exposure to digital publishing and food journalism and will supplement classroom studies.
The Epicurious intern will learn from experienced, talented professionals in the editorial department. Interns will receive real-world, hands-on experience from knowledgeable professionals. Among other things, interns will:

• Learn the essentials of digital publishing: writing and publishing best practices, SEO (search engine optimization), content management systems, and social media
• Contribute writing to the site
• Participate in editorial planning
• Curate and build recipe slideshows
• Assist with photo shoots, conduct photo research
• Research and fact-check editorial content
• Maintain the Epicurious reference library
• Help moderate and curate the Community Table blog

Qualifications
In addition to the items discussed above, interns must:
• Be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited US college or university and eligible to receive academic credit or an academic letter of support for the internship.
• Be available to participate in a 12 or 13 week internship from September to December for two days per week during the academic year.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in food writing (writing samples welcome) and a familiarity with Epicurious.com and its presence on social media channels such as Pinterest and Facebook

Editorial Intern-Fashion

Newsweek/The Daily Beast is looking for a part- or full-time editorial intern to join its online fashion department, Fashion Beast.

This is a very hands-on job—interns are integral to the daily upkeep of The Daily Beast! You’ll be helping to pitch, produce, research, and write stories about fashion and art -- as well as keep fashion lookbooks and galleries up-to-date and help with bigger projects. Fashion Beast interns are responsible for writing the daily “Fashion Cheat Sheet,” which is a crucial summation of the day’s news.

We ask that interns come to the job with writing prior experience. Ability to work quickly on deadline is a must. You should be passionate about all things fashion and pop culture, as well as have a keen nose for news. Photoshop and/or multimedia skills are preferred but not required.

Applicants should be plugged in to what’s happening in the viral world, and have a constant hunger for fashion news.

This is an unpaid internship for students, and interns must receive college credit. Hours are flexible, but at least two days between Monday- Fridays are required.

E-Commerce Editorial Intern

Join the Time Out Transactions team and gain first hand experience in e-commerce. The intern will work directly under the e-commerce content manager and content producer.

HGTV Magazine Fall 2013 Editorial Interns Needed

Responsibilities will include transcribing, researching, reporting and fact-checking in addition to administrative duties and other assignments.

The ideal candidate will be available two days per week starting early September and will have a love of all things home/lifestyle-related, and the HGTV network, too! You MUST receive college credit for this internship.

CNBC Assignment Desk Internship

NBC is looking for some interns to join us in the Fall of 2013 to work on our assignment desk at our headquarters’ based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

As an intern on the assignment desk, you will be working with directly with CNBC reporters, anchors, producers, editors and photographers. You will be helping us answer phones, conduct interviews, help with breaking news coverage, courtroom reporting, producing events and logging tape.

CNBC provides free transpiration to and from New York City.

NBC pays $10.00 a hour plus any over time.

Fall News Team Intern

The CFR news intern will assist the organization's news team with daily editorial and publishing tasks. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Researching and writing backgrounder updates
• Working in CFR's content management system to code and edit pieces for the site
• Interview transcription

We require 2 days a week from early September to mid-December. Internships are filled on a rolling basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Undergraduate or graduate student focusing on international relations and/or journalism.

The editorial internship is an unpaid internship that will provide the student(s) selected with first-hand exposure to the fashion industry and will supplement classroom studies.

An ideal WWD intern candidate is a sophomore, junior or senior at an accredited US college or university, eligible to receive academic credit or an academic letter of support for the internship. Journalism majors are preferred but not required. A keen interest in fashion and writing is a must.
The WWD intern will learn from experienced, talented professionals in the editorial department. Interns will receive real-world, hands-on experience from knowledgeable professionals. Interns will have the opportunity to attend seminars and events throughout the semester that will introduce them to various components of the fashion business. Interns will also have the opportunity to discuss learning objectives with their mentors and other professionals throughout the internship.

Oprah.com Editorial Intern

Oprah.com is seeking a hard-working, web-savvy and enthusiastic intern to join our staff for the fall semester. This is an unpaid internship position, and you must be able to receive college credit for the experience. Duties will include production, photo research, market work, research for stories, social media, and writing promotional copy. There may be opportunities to pitch and write original content.

Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. They should be diligent managers of their own time and not afraid to ask questions. A passion for journalism and for women’s magazines in particular, as well as enthusiasm about exploring the many creative opportunities involved in web journalism, are essential. Writing experience and strong research skills are a must. Web experience is a plus, but not necessary. Additionally, a sense of humor and diverse interests are welcome.
