Us Weekly’s special issue/”bookazine” team is looking for an unpaid fall editorial intern. We are flexible with scheduling but require 20 hours per week. College credit and a love for all things pop culture (from movie franchises to the royal family) are a MUST. No exceptions. Duties include:

• Distributing relevant morning news from major outlets, Google Alerts, plus related fansites and Twitterfeeds
• Efficiently and thoroughly transcribing interviews
• Compiling detailed research files via YouTube clips, radio interviews, magazine scans and archives, Twitter, etc.
• Using LexisNexis, Studio Systems, Celebrity Service, Critical Mention, imDB Pro and Who Represents as resources for fact-checking and organizing publicist contact info
• Helping our photo team with preliminary research and administrative work
• Occasionally assisting the weekly magazine with any extra editorial needs

Editorial Internship

SLAM is looking for an online editorial intern to work two days a week out of our Manhattan office.

Must have WordPress experience, a love for basketball at all levels and a familiarity with SLAM Magazine/SLAMonline.com. Intern will mostly be working on online posts, including photo galleries, video galleries, news stories, the occasional feature/Q+A, etc. (Random office duties may also pop up.) Should be currently enrolled in a journalism, English, writing or media-related program. Food Writer Editorial Internship

The Village Voice is looking for a creative, reliable intern to join our team part-time this fall and assist with the development of food and drink stories. Our ideal intern will have an interest in New York's food culture, possess strong writing and researching skills, and have some experience with digital photography. Duties will include sourcing materials for upcoming stories, providing general editorial support, and learning the ins and outs of our newspaper and blog production.

You might be interested in an internship at Hemispheres, the award-winning in-flight magazine for United and Continental airlines. Our New York City office is looking for one or two great fall interns to research story ideas, fact check stories, write front-of-book items and generally help out the editorial team. Although the position is unpaid and requires credit eligibility, interns will get lots of personal attention from editors—we have a small office—and bylined clips. We are looking for someone to work at least two days a week from mid-September until mid-December.

Parenting Magazine is looking for Fall 2012 interns in our NYC office. This is a great opportunity to work on all sections of Parenting Early Years and Parenting School Years magazines, get to know a variety of editors, acquire print and online clips, and get administrative office experience.

Some duties include: writing short front or back of book pieces for the magazine, blogging for Parenting.com’s Show & Tell blog, calling in and returning products, requesting images, doing research for various stories, opening and organizing mail, transcribing interviews, etc.

Latina magazine is looking for a smart, enthusiastic intern for the fall semester (Sept to Dec). Our fall intern will work closely with the magazine's editors by assisting with research, researching story ideas, reaching out to readers, fact-checking, transcribing interviews, attending editorial meetings and other editorial tasks. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for Latina culture and a love of magazines. The internship is for school credit only.

Fall Internship

Intern duties would include researching, compiling data, editing and proofreading stories, answering fan mail, running errands, reporting, gathering, obtaining first-hand information, and networking. Please note that journalism majors may be asked to write articles, blog, etc. regarding the various subjects including politics, world news and the current election.
