This internship involves:
• Managing Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Snapchat accounts
• Monitoring trends and analyzing metrics on similar pages
• Brainstorming ways to expand social media reach and increase overall engagement
• Assisting Web Editor with building monthly newsletter campaigns

Requirements :
• This is not a virtual placement; the person needs to be in New York City
• Work at least 1-2 days a week
• Can start mid-August
• Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube highly recommended
• Experience with Photoshop or Canva a plus

Social Media Intern

In this internship (not available for credit), you'll work directly with our Social Media Editor to facilitate PUNCH’s social media presence and community engagement. You’ll help write, promote and schedule content across major platforms, assemble bi-weekly newsletters, assist in creating social-forward photos and video, and contribute to our ongoing social strategy.

Our dream candidate is extremely organized, adaptable and resourceful — an individual who excels in a start-up environment and takes ownership of their projects. Experience with Facebook Business Manager, Hootsuite, Photoshop and InDesign is a plus.

This internship is paid at $11/hour and would start in August, at two days in our office each week. There may also be some weeks where we’d ask you to be in the office three days. Candidates must be 21+.

Responsibilities
• Contribute to positioning brainstorming sessions for new content
• Repost content across Facebook and Twitter
• Draft and schedule tweets to repromote relevant articles, recipes, events etc
• Pull story details from website to populate bi-weekly newsletters
• Identify and pull tagged photos from Instagram
• Assist with creating photography and video for social platforms
• Assist with community engagement and growth initiatives
• Outreach to bartenders, influencers, writers, etc
• Contribute to editorial pitch meetings and social strategy sessions

Communication Intern

Title: Communications Intern (non-credit internship)

This is a paid and flexible, part-time internship reporting to the Communications Director, whose office is located at 650 Fifth Avenue, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10019.

JOB SUMMARY
The Communications Intern will provide holistic communications and administrative support to the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation’s Communications Team. This person will participate in support tasks for all of the foundation’s public relations, marketing, internal and grantee communications, media monitoring, content creation, design projects, social media and website maintenance. In addition to working with the Communications Director, the Intern will work closely with the Communications Associate and the Executive Assistant to the President and Board Liaison, as well as other foundation staff. The Intern will gain a close understanding of the processes of the Communications Team in addition to in-depth exposure to the foundation’s work overall.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Monitor media coverage related to the foundation’s staff and trustees, programs, awards, activities and grantees, and draft concise summaries of recent news for internal circulation.
• Assist with updates to the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation website by drafting and uploading content through the site’s content management system.
• Assist in the development of new content for the “Grantee Spotlight” section of the foundation’s website, which may require conducting research, interviewing foundation colleagues and/or grantees, and writing.
• Perform longer-term research projects on topics including, but not limited to, trends in website/homepage aesthetics and structure, and communications-related contractors and vendors.
• Proofread press materials and website content, and ensure their adherence to the foundation’s in-house style guide.
• Perform vital research for public relations projects, including sourcing media contacts for focused outreach on key foundation initiatives.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of content for the foundation’s social media presence.
• Provide general administrative support to the Communications Team, including occasional copying, creating reports, taking meeting notes, generating meeting minutes, and coordinating schedules for small and large meetings as required.
• Assist in managing photo shoots and selecting photography to complement editorial content.
• Participate in meetings to develop communications strategies that help advance programmatic and institutional goals.

TEDx Licensing Intern

TEDx is growing rapidly. The TEDx Licensing Team receives over 100 applications every week from amazing individuals who want to organize TEDx events. In order to quickly assess them, we need to get certain information, fast.

Your primary responsibility will be to help our team review applications against specific criteria. This involves a great deal of web work: you will need zealous attention to detail and a defiant attitude towards repetition.

A few skills you can expect to practice or learn: web research, interview skills, fact checking, systems management and the ability to express a succinct opinion that informs decisions.

The requirements:

You must be able to work in our Manhattan office 10am-6pm, five full days each week
You must be able to quickly learn new processes, and how to use new Mac software
Global mindset/perspective
Multi-lingual preferred but not required
MUST be proficient in Mac OS

We need weekly articles for our blog. The aim of our blog is to draw traffic to our site and catch the interest of our physician audience.

The article should be engaging so that our readers, mostly providers, healthcare consultants or upper management of healthcare, add their comments. We want to come across as professional yet personal and engaging. We do not want someone to have to concentrate too hard to understand the content and add in their thoughts. It should make the writer sound intelligent by bringing out a new perspective on every day matters.

Communications Intern

The intern will support United Nations Financing for Development Office staff and contractors in their objective to promote the report and online annex of the Inter-agency Task Force on Financing for Development.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Innovative Technology in Criminal Justice Reform - Communications Intern

The Center is seeking a Communication Intern for Technology in the Criminal Justice Sector blog. Reporting to the Product Manager, the Communications Intern would be involved in helping to shape the conversations about technology’s intersection with the criminal justice system – including how it is used, impacts on people who are justice involved, and best practices. They would be responsible for editing written, audio, and video content; identifying interesting blogposts; assisting with interviewing subject matter experts; and helping to organize formal and informal convenings. The Communications Intern’s responsibilities will cover a broad array of technology topics. The Intern will also interact with policy-makers, program implementers, activists, community members, technologists, researchers, and vendors.

The Center for an Urban Future (CUF) seeks interns with experience in journalism or public policy research to support our work. Responsibilities can include extensive phone interviews, Web research, data analysis, and writing. Other duties include coordinating meetings with government officials and attending policy meetings.

Skills and attributes we seek are:
• Strong writing and oral communications skills
• Ability to synthesize ideas clearly and concisely
• Ability to conduct effective interviews over the phone and in person
• High level of competency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Our internship program is very competitive and attracts talented undergraduate and graduate students from across the country and around the world.

You must be able to commit to at least 20 hours a week. We provide a small stipend at the end of the internship to help offset travel expenses. College credit is available where applicable.
