The New York News Bureau of Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) is seeking an energetic, professional individual to fill an Associate TV News Producer position. TBS is one of the oldest and largest television and radio broadcasting networks in Japan and broadcasts nationally via 28 affiliate stations. The New York Bureau covers news primarily in the United States for broadcast in Japan.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Assist News Correspondents with daily news coverage and long term news projects.
Research for news stories, set up interviews, and coordinate schedules.
Assist with on-site news production and in-house recording, logging and editing of video feeds.
Compile and prioritize information on daily, weekly, and long-range news events in coverage area.
Monitor U.S. domestic news sources for information of interest to Japanese audience.
Japanese language ability a plus and journalism experience preferred. Strong interest in economic, political and social news important.

News coverage sometimes requires travel, overtime, and occasional work on weekends.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Web Editor

Yale Environment 360, an award-winning online magazine based at Yale University, is seeking a Web Editor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the website. The Web Editor’s responsibilities include finding and creating photo/multimedia packages; preparing articles and images for the content management system; copy editing and proofreading; writing short articles and items; promoting the site via social networks and elsewhere; and serving as general operations manager.

Reporter

Americanlawyer.com seeks a part-time reporter for our daily online news operation covering the business of law as practiced by the largest, most profitable U.S. and international law firms. The position is based in New York and pays $10 an hour for 24 hours a week to be divided across three or four days depending on availability. Staff Writer

Business Monthly, an editorially independent magazine published by the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, seeks a full-time staff writer. Based in our Cairo office, the writer will conceive, report and write feature stories on business and economic news and trends in Egypt—

Faculty Chair - Broadcast Journalism

The Department of Broadcast Journalism at the New York Film Academy invites applications for Faculty Chair.

Applicants with a Master’s Degree in Journalism or Communications, with significant television broadcast production and content creation experience are preferred. Minimum academic qualification is a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Communications.

- At least 5 Years of work experience at a network or local news station as a practicing reporter or producer
- Experience as an educator
- Teaching certificate
- Ability to shoot with digital camcorder and help students beyond the teachings of their camera instructor
- Ability to edit with Final Cut X and spend significant time in the edit room helping students to edit their stories.
(preferably certified Final Cut X certificate)
- Ability to work with students to develop as writers on their scripts (especially necessary with ESL students)
- Experience and ability to work in a control room as a producer of every aspect of a news program including
scripting and graphics.
- Strong understanding of the changing nature of Broadcast Journalism especially when it comes to
Multimedia.
- Develop and follow lesson plans so that students have clear understanding of learning objectives for each
class.
- Proven administrative abilities in managing a small staff, making schedules, equipment requests, working
with NYFA administration and spending significant time emailing and speaking on the phone with prospective
students.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in Broadcast Journalism production, editorial, logistics, budgets, ethics and history. Must have a proven ability to teach and most importantly motivate students to reach their highest potential.

Cameraperson and editor

China Business Network, New York Bureau is looking for a full-time cameraman for the local office.

Responsibilities
1. Shoot and edit (Final Cut Pro) news packages. Workload is usually around three packages per week.
2. Some times to work with reporters on background research and pitching story ideas

The product provides news, data and intelligence about the people and processes that drive decision-making at large retail distributors. The reporter will cover distributors’ home offices, which are the teams that influence what investment products financial advisors and brokers ultimately use with their clients. Our target audience includes key accounts executives at asset management firms, who seek to crack these platforms and keep abreast of industry changes.

We seek an experienced (3-5 years), dedicated reporter, who is interested in the opportunity to help shape this evolving product. The ideal candidate will relish working a beat, developing a network of sources and breaking news. Applicants should also be flexible and comfortable working as part of a team. Although not required, the ideal candidate will have experience covering financial services. Ideally, the candidate will have some editing experience, too.
